Men's Cross Country Release #3: Raiders Travel to Paul Short Run

The Colgate University men's cross country team travels to Bethlehem, Pa. for the 36th annual Brooks Paul Short Run. The men's race is set to start at 11:00 a.m.
LAST OUTING
The Raiders took third as a team at the Colgate Invitational. Colgate placed five runners in the top-20 to accumulate 85 points for third place.
Freshman Christopher Johnson, and juniors Ed Sheridan and Daniel Gleason led all Colgate runners in the 6k, finishing 15th, 16th and 17th overall with times of 27:33, 27:34 and 27:38, respectively.
Juniors Griffith Cannon and Bryan Crowley rounded out the top five for the Raiders, hitting the tape in 27:41 and 28:01.

With more than two decades of coaching experience, Art McKinnon is one of the most knowledgeable track and field mentors in the Patriot League and the northeast. Now in his 22nd year as the head coach of the Colgate University men's cross country and track and field programs, McKinnon has coached the Raiders to two Patriot League team championships, and has guided 37 student-athletes to individual league crowns.
In 2001, McKinnon guided the cross-country team to victory at the IC4A Championship, and the Raiders finished second in 2002. In 2007, Colgate placed third behind the University of New Hampshire and Syracuse University at the IC4A Championship.
In 1994, McKinnon coached Colgate through an undefeated, 8-0 season - the best record since the 1962 season - and in 1995, his team set the school standard for wins in a season with a 10-7 record.

Colgate hits the course again on Oct. 10, at the Hamilton Invitational the meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
