ANNAPOLIS, Md. (2/21/09)- The Colgate University men’s track and field team wrapped-up action on the final day of the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championship at Navy’s Wesley A. Brown Field House. The Raiders finished seventh overall with 12 points.
Army took home the crown with a team-high score of 188, while Bucknell was second with 129 points.
Sophomore Dan Gleason (Norwalk, Conn.) highlighted the final day off competition finishing fifth overall with a personal-record time of 4:14.77 in the mile. Gleason’s time was nearly two-seconds better than his previous best which he set this season. Classmate Ed Boulat (Larchmont, N.Y.) also competed in an individual final, finishing sixth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:29.99, just .11 off his personal-best.
Freshman Alex Coco (New Canaan, Conn.) competed in his first Patriot League final and finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.62. Coco was just .09 off his personal-best.
All three relay teams finished in the top-five starting with the DMR who took home fourth with a time of 10:14.96. The 4x400- and 4x800-meter relay teams both finished fifth with times of 3:23.27 and 7:40.61, respectively.
A portion of Colgate athletes will compete again on March 7 at the IC4A Championships in Boston.
