LEWISBURG, Pa. (4/12/09)—Colgate University sophomore Ed Sheridan (Phillipsburg, N.J.) qualified for the IC4A Championships in the 10,000-meter run as the men’s track and field team competed at the Bucknell Invitational.
Friday night, Sheridan got things started for the Raiders in the 10,000-meter run. His time of 31:02.33 ranks sixth on the Colgate record board and first in the Patriot League. Sophomore Dan Gleason (Norwalk, Conn.) also improved his personal-best in the 1,500-meter run by more than 10 seconds to 3:56.42. Also running a personal-best was senior Emmett Weatherford (Keaau, Hawaii) in the 5,000-meter run with a 15:53.92.
On Saturday, junior Phil Natoli (Fayetteville, N.Y.) took third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.95, while Gleason followed with his second personal-record time of the weekend, with a 1:55.61 in the 800-meter run.
The Raiders return to action on April 18, at Holy Cross. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
