HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/17/09)—The Colgate University men’s track and field team will look to improve their times this weekend as they travel to Holy Cross Saturday, April 18. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Hart Track.
Last week, sophomore Ed Sheridan (Phillipsburg, N.J.) qualified for the IC4A Championships in the 10,000-meter run as the men’s track and field team competed at the Bucknell Invitational.
Sheridan posted a time of 31:02.33 in the 10,000-meter run which ranks sixth on the Colgate record board and first in the Patriot League. Sophomore Dan Gleason (Norwalk, Conn.) also improved his personal-best in the 1,500-meter run by more than 10 seconds to 3:56.42. Also running a personal-best was senior Emmett Weatherford (Keaau, Hawaii) in the 5,000-meter run with a 15:53.92.
Junior Phil Natoli (Fayetteville, N.Y.) took third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.95, while Gleason followed with his second personal-record time of the weekend, with a 1:55.61 in the 800-meter run.
