Softball Travels To Syracuse Friday For A Doubleheader

HAMILTON, N.Y. (4/30/09) – The Colgate softball team will close out its regular season with a doubleheader at Syracuse University on Friday, May 1. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
The Raiders (24-15) will be seeded second in the Patriot League Tournament on May 7-9 at Lehigh University. Colgate plays Bucknell in the opening round of the double elimination tournament at 4 p.m. on May 7 at Kaufman Field.
Colgate and Syracuse have met only twice before with the Orange sweeping a doubleheader in 2001, 1-0 in nine innings and 1-0 in the nightcap.
This doubleheader was a late addition to the schedule with both teams preparing for tournament play. The Orange (28-18) will be participating in the Big East Tournament on May 7-9 at the University of Louisville.
