CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (4/7/09) - The Colgate University women’s rowing team was picked to finish third in this year’s Patriot League Preseason Poll, released by the league office on Friday afternoon.
The Raiders earned 17 votes in the poll, as voted on by conference head coaches and sports information directors. Two-time All-Patriot League selection, junior Vicky Hulit (Rye, N.Y.), will return to the Raiders line-up this year.
Leading the rankings was Bucknell with 31 overall points and seven first place votes. Following the Bison was Navy claiming the remaining three first place votes and a total of 27 overall points. Rounding out the standings is Holy Cross with 16 points to place fourth in the rankings, followed by Lehigh which garnered 9 points to finish fifth.
The 2009 Patriot League Rowing Championship will take place April 26 on the Cooper River in Camden County, N.J. The championship consists of three races: Varsity Four, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Eight.
