McCarrick Named PL Softball Pitcher of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, PA (5/4/09) – Colgate junior Jesse McCarrick (Oak Hill, VA) has been named Patriot League Softball Pitcher of the Week. She tossed a complete-game against Big East foe Syracuse, giving the Raiders their first-ever victory over the Orange, 5-1.
McCarrick scattered nine hits and walked just one batter while striking out two to pick up her 11th win of the season. It is the first time this season and second team in her career that McCarrick has received the honor.
Colgate (25-16) is seeded second in this week double-elimination Patriot League Tournament, May 7-9, at Lehigh University. The Raiders will open play on Thursday against third-seeded Bucknell at 4 p.m. The winner of the tournament received an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
